Question 1: What resources are available to collect child support & child custody?

Question 2: The biological father of the baby has had nothing to do with my pregnancy until now when I have 3 weeks left and he said that he was going to get a DNA test done. my question is that if his name is not on the birth certificate does he have any rights to the baby? and what are the grandparents rights in Louisiana? i am also engaged and my fiancée wishes to adopt the child when we get married. can the biological father stop the adoption, because he threatened me by saying that if he is the father (which I know he is) that he was not going to let my fiancée adopt him. I don't want child support from him, I'm not taking him to court for any reason.

Question 3: I am in the middle of a custody battle...I have limited funds for a lawyer and don't know what to do...I have 4 kids and 2 of them want to go live with their father now that he has convinced them that life will be better since they have a bigger house they were assigned a lawyer but I still have a 16 and a 10 year old at home who if the child support gets cut in half we might lose our house and have to go live with my mother that doesn't seem to be fair to me at all he is now remarried to the person that I think is behind all this...

Question 5: Need to leave my husband, but I have been stay at home mom for almost 3 years now. I have no money, no credit cards, no family to help. I do have a car. I am so desperate. I am at the end and I do not know where to go. My husband has cut me off from everything to include my email. So I had to start a new one. I have to stay in this town because my son goes to school here. I need daycare so I can find a job and need to find a place to live. Please try to help me My husband is very moody, yeah I know who isn't, it's just that he could care less if the children are around. I am trying not to disturb my children lifestyle. This is not their fault. Can you help?

Question 6: I'm 18 and just had a baby girl. Baby's father didn't want anything to do with me or the baby until the birth. He signed the birth certificate, but she has my last name. He has a felony record, is on probation, and a drug user. he is 18 as well and his parents are pushing him to be active in her life, but I don't trust him. They are now threatening legal action because I wont leave my 4 week old alone with them. Does he or his family have any legal rights to my baby. They have provided no financial support and have been aggressive and threatening. What do I do? I don't want him alone with my baby while he's still using drugs. help! please!

Question 7: The father of my child wanted me to have an abortion but now that I have had the baby he thinks that he should have just as much right to my baby as I do. I let him see the baby anytime that he wants but I don't let him TAKE the baby anywhere my baby is only three months old and I breast feed only. so he keeps threatening to take me to court over the fact that I won't let him take the baby anywhere by himself. Will the fact that he wanted me to have an abortion have any effect on the case if he takes me to court? There are a lot more factors to this case than that as with any case but I just don't trust his judgment with my baby. Please answer this e-mail I desperately need some help I am scared to death that I am going have to let my baby go into his hands!!!

Question 8: I have a child born out of wedlock. What rights do I have if I refuse to have the father who is married to someone else, to have anything to do with my baby?

Question 9: I am a single mother of a lovely 2 year old girl. Her father and I were never married. He has chosen to not pay child support, and believe or not I'm okay with it. however since this decision I feel that it is okay for me to file for sole custody of my daughter. He sees her on his schedule and I want this to stop. I want her to have a normal child hood with a loving family to support her. I feel that a father that only shows up once in a while in unhealthy for her. She has other male role models in her life. Can you please give me some advice on how to handle this? what steps should I take?

Question 10: I am 20 years old and am 20 weeks pregnant. My boyfriend of 3 years sat down a few weeks ago and said "You'll never be a person I could ever marry. I don't love you." Ironically, I was the one who told him I wasn't expecting a marriage out of this and I was the one who told our parents that marriage was not a priority. He lives a half a mile away from me and doesn't call me, doesn't care about me or my health, but insists that he will be a great father and will do everything that is necessary. Every time we see each other or talk it is because I have made the initiative. He says he will support the baby financially, but has gotten a job selling umbrellas on the beach. He says he will be there emotionally for the baby, but he will be moving to school (3 hours away) and says he'll come home on weekends. After 3 years, he has decided to completely forsake me, and that hurts beyond what words can describe. Since he dropped that bomb I have been trying to be caring, understanding, open, and patient.

Btw, he keeps closing doors and shutting me out, as if I have done something wrong. Now I am scared for my child. He has been saying that he "has a right" to be a part of the child and he will have rights later on. I know he does, I never tried to take that from him, and have always said we will have joint custody. But I am worried now that he has something up his sleeve. If I am to seek sole custody later, what is the best course of action to take?

Should I continue to be open and to continue trying to build a relationship again (as parents of this child) or should I let his actions and his ignorance continue in hopes that a court will see that I deserve the custody? I am so confused and so concerned. I wish more than anything he'd snap out of it and realize what a fool he is being, but I know that is useless. So all I am left to do now is to protect myself and my baby. How can I increase my chances of sole custody if that needs be? And should I give up on trying to be patient and friendly?
