My name is Ines Livingston and I have a truly amazing
story. My story all began when I was in high school. See I was the all
American girl. I was a cheerleader, I was vice president of my junior class,
and I was in a lot of other clubs. I made good grades and I was very
popular and well known. During all this I was able to conceal all the abuse
that was going on at home and all the going in and out of court because of
it.
My step father was beating up on my mother and I was standing in the
middle battling him as if I were a man just to protect. After the police
would come it would end up being my fault, but I maintained my status at
school and no one knew, but a few people. I feel head over heels in love
with Roy Graham. I would start to run to him for protect and comfort. My
step father was telling people in the neighbor that he was having sex with
me and just ruining my name with all these terrible lies. I was only
sixteen why couldn't he just leave me alone.
Then I found out I was
pregnant. Roy and I didn't have a clue what we were going to do, but we
knew we would do it together. Everything started to fall apart. The teachers
were talking about me and so were the students, but I went to school
everyday and complete the task at hand. When I was seven months pregnant I
found out I was having twins and I had was absolutely terrified. What was I
going to do with two babies. I had my two beautiful children with the man I
loved right by my side. I was so excited. Then I fell ill due to placenta
being left in my body. I went blind for two weeks and the stool in my body
backed up into my stomach. The hospital had to pump my stomach for two days
and this whole time all I could think about was would I see my twins grow
up.
After two weeks I came home and my drunken step father was up to old
self. I put a knife to his neck and told him he better leave me and my
children alone. The Neighbor came and took the knife from me and my step
father laughed as he called me whores and every other name in the book. The
Next day the neighbor told the twins father, my knight in shining armor. I
remember walking into the hallway and Roy busting in the house and just
punching my step father again and again. He was saying you better never
call her another name or hit her again.
Finally, Someone to stand up for
me. I called, my step fathers probation officer and told her of what was
going on and she came in an hour and he was locked up in jail for three
months. I felt that was a slap in the face because of all I had endured,
but it was better than nothing. Now, here comes the test. I am a senior in
high school and I am making the grades because I am going to college and
under no circumstance could I fell because two beautiful people were
depending on me.
I graduated you all and I graduated with a 3.725. I did
it and I did it well. I couldn't graduate with honors because see My
daughter had pneumonia and she was hospitalized for two weeks and I was
there with here every day and Roy stayed home with little Roy. See I missed
to many days, but that o.k. off to college I go. I also worked part time,
got my own place, took care of my children, and went to college. I didn't
only go but I graduated with a B.A. in History.
God is truly good he made a
way when I thought their wasn't one. I am a testament to all young if you
want it believe it and it will be so. The twins, my new baby, and I moved
all the way to California and we are doing good. So remember when it seems
hard you are truly not alone.
