We all heard of such South Beach diet, Atkins diet, low carb, counting calories & all, how do we have time to watch the calories that intake on the daily basic? Packing the food for your kids; dropping the kids at school; rushing to work; trying to meet the deadline at work; Picking the kids form school; cooking dinner at home; washing the clothes; by the time you go to bed; you are all exhausted. So how do we even have time to know what food is good for you?

Good news! The next time you visit one of these fast-food restaurants, please check out their latest healthy choice menus.

As I'm sure you realize, food establishments like Panera Bread Co. (known for it's great bread options), Sonic and food service distributors like Aramark are delivering low-carb options to customers. While groups like Arby's, McDonalds and Sonic are producing healthy salads for their customers. Here are examples of what various media outlets have been reporting recently on the "low-carb craze":

    • LowCarbEnergy.com: Preliminary research findings at Duke University Medical Center show that a low-carbohydrate diet can indeed lead to significant and sustained weight loss. Researchers found that 80-percent of the 50 enrolled patients in their experiment adhered to the diet program for the duration of the study and lost an average of 10 percent of their original body weight. The average amount of weight lost per person was approximately 20 pounds.LowCarbEnergy.com

    • USA TODAY: Aramark, the nation's largest food service company, which provides meals at dozens of Fortune 500 companies and hospitals and colleges, recently announced plans to add 600 recipes to its repertoire - many with reduced calories, less fat and fewer carbs. "We can get more people into the cafeteria if we give them more healthy options," says Bill Leonard, Aramark's chief executive. USAToday.com

    • Uticaod.com: What could go better with that low-carb dinner? How about a nice glass of low-carb wine?  Cashing in on the low-carb diet craze, some wineries are now labeling wine with both calorie and carbohydrate counts. Others, such as Brown-Forman Wines, have gone so far as to introduce new low-carb wines. Beer companies already are marketing low-carb versions of their product...And the federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade bureau recently said alcoholic beverage producers may list calorie and carbohydrate content on labels. To satisfy the summer "eating on the go" need, Arby's has extended their Market Fresh Line offering these nutritious options. Their new location-inspired salads (Martha's Vineyard(tm), Santa Fe(tm) and Asian Sesame(tm)) offer a fresh, fast food option. For a limited time only, they are also offering Low Carby's wraps and Low Carby's bowls (any Arby's sandwich without the bread).
