Welcome to kid of the month. Ciera Nicol from Ohio This month we featured "Ciera Nicol". She is 4 years old in Summer 2006. ***** Ciera and I have a special bond. When she was 6 months I left and went to Iraq for 6 months, which was a true test in my life. No matter what I made it my priority to call her, send her pictures and write to her. In the meantime she was well taken care of by my family back home in Ohio; When I returned home she was already 12 ½ mo, walking and talking. It was very hard and I can't imagine leaving her again. I think our mother daughter bond is so string because she knows I went away and came back to her and I know she's only 4 but I think her respect level for me is very high. She understands the news and what is going on in the world (to an extent).Last week we were watching the news (mind you she's 4) and there was something about the war on terror, and she turned to me and said" Mommy, you don't have to play Army there anymore do you? "I started to cry. Just the fact that she understands I was there. I think she's a great kid and my shining star, she's the reason I came home from the war in one piece. God gave me a real life angel and now I have two!
