I am looking for stories from single mothers to use as examples in a book that
will reveal how personalities affect the different ways we handle difficulties.
This submission should tell of a situation that you found yourself in as a
single mother. It should tell what you did and relate that to your own
personality and temperament. In other words, why you did what you did when
another person of a different temperament probably would have done it entirely
differently given the same circumstances.
=================
Include a
50 word preface explaining the situation or problem.
Please
double space and use Arial or other simple font.
Write 200 words explaining how you dealt with the situation. Include as much as
possible about your temperament or personality and how that affected the way you
handled it. I am looking for stories that illustrate a lesson learned or a
spiritual turning point. No preaching, please. This needs to appeal to secular
as well as Christian readers. If you want an example you may go to my website
www.seeinguthrough.com and read the Christmas Elf story under Gail’s
Publications.
Email as an attached Word document to
gail@seeinguthrough.com with “Single Mom” in the subject box.
If I should choose to include your story in the manuscript you will be notified
and will be given the opportunity to review any edits that are made. You may
choose to have your name included or remain anonymous.

About
Author:
Gail Showalter is a heartwarming, moving, and genuine speaker. As founder of
Seeing U Through, her passion is to assist others in becoming the person God
imagined them to be when He first created them.
She holds a masters degree from The University of Texas and for 18 years she
worked professionally in education. Gail is a published author and presents
workshops throughout the United States. Her presentations are intriguing and
practical and her personality is genuine. She is actively involved in
Toastmasters and speaks to a variety of groups. She can speak just as
comfortably to large audiences as to a few. Her home is in Texas with her
husband, Sam. They each have 3 grown children.
Gail was a single mother of three for 16 years before she married Sam in
1996. During her years as a single mom she learned to depend on the Lord for
guidance. Her article on returning to college as a single parent was
published in Single-Parent Family magazine October 2000. She says,
"Through life's lessons, training and speaking experiences around the
country, I have learned that God gives His grace and the guidance needed to
meet the needs of those hurting in our community and churches."
Gail holds degrees in speech, art, special education and a master's in
education. She is a CLASServices, Inc. graduate and a Personality
Specialist.
Now that she is remarried and her children are grown she has the opportunity
to do the things she enjoys most. She writes, speaks about how personality
types affect our relationships, presents workshops on art for the visually
impaired, and presents messages to groups of Christians on overcoming the
obstacles in their lives.
She is published in the following:
-
Single Parent Families (of Focus on the Family)
-
Living for the Whole Family
-
Live, A Weekly Journal of Practical Christian Living
