  1. Hi Veronica, i really need some advice. I’m 20 years old, and my boyfriend of a year has gotten me pregnant,.. hes 22.. I’m currently 8 weeks due October 17th.. I’m going through a lot, he has a kid with someone else he pays child support for and he only sees some weekends bc she tries to hold his daughter against him. We live together and everything but he ups and leaves me whenever he wants for no reason. Like right now its 1 a/m on a Sunday and he didnt come home from work friday and told me earlier saturday hed be coming home tonight and still isn’t here. And also not replying. This is like the 8th time he’s done this to me since we’ve been together but since i’ve been pregnant it’s became like an every weekend thing. I love him so much and i want him in his kids life whether we are together or not, i don’t want his relationship with our child like his with his daughter.. I’ve tried explaining this to him and how he hurts me and it seems like i get somewhere then the weekend comes. Everyone says i need to just say i’m done and go on and worry about myself and my baby, but this is so much easier said than done. I don’t know what to do.. I want him and i know it’s not good that i’m stressing like this while hes gone. WHY can’t i just let go and give up. Ugh what do i do to make this situation better?

  3. Hello….I am a single mother of 2 trying to get my feet under myself. I was hoping that you could give me some advice as where to look for a small student loan (around 1000) I have been reading page after page and i can not find an appropriate one for my needs, if there is one. I am looking to enroll in a cna traning program offered by the american red cross, but the fee is more than i can come up with on my own. Any advice you could give would be much appreciated.

OK, here is the deal. I was divorced from my son’s father in 2004. He until this past year has never been consistent with child support. He was a truck driver when we divorced but told us all that he was in an accident and killed some people. (LIE) Then he said I really want to go to my sister’s house for a month or so just to refresh after the accident. Out of the kindness of my heart believing this LIE I said sure. Here is the catch, he was not supposed to move more than 100 miles from our son. He decided to stay in FL and even remarried to a woman who already had a child. (His dad is a real dad and will not let her relocate with the child.) He then had a child with this woman and now he only visits with his son once a year for 3 weeks in the summer. (He is order two weeks but I gave an extra since he does not get to see his dad.) Now I have a BS in Psychology and am up for a government job in Germany. I agreed to pay for visitation expenses for his 3 week summer visitation and asked him would it be alright if I took Michael to live in Germany. He said no because if something happened he would not be able to get to his child quickly. I understand that but since he only visits him once a year, never sends a christmas or birthday card and only calls about once a month I feel it is unfair to bar me from a possible great government job working with soldiers and their families. My ex and myself are both former military so this is very near and dear to my heart. On top of that the job situation for my degree field is bleak to say the least here in the US. All things considered I really do not want to have to fight it out in court but I need to be able to take care of my family. I have not had sustained full time gainful employment since I graduated in 09. I need a career and my son would benefit from immersion in other cultures as well as Department of Defense education. If you were me what would you do?

    Hello veronica,
I am a soon to be single mom I’m 20 weeks pregnant the father left me when i decided to keep the baby. Should I bother getting child support from him or just let it be. I will be graduating from nursing school this may and plan i getting a job in my field abut a month after i have the baby. My family said they would support us. I know it will be hard at first but I feel I’m capable of taking care of my child on my own finances but would enjoy the child support so I don’t have to worry about having the things I need for my baby or the things she would like when she is older. is it worth even fighting for it. I live in New York state I don’t know if this makes a difference
