Make up can only make you glow for a few moments but the real shine in your appearance comes from eating the right kinds of foods. It is true that we are what we eat. Eat the wrong foods and your system is going to malfunction sooner or later and along with it your physical appearance will suffer too.
Lets us take a deeper look into how eating the wrong kind of foods adversely affects one’s physical appearance:
- Brittle hair - Fast foods and foods with preservatives are one of the main reasons for brittle hair. The hair is one of the first things to get effected when one is on a poor diet. Your hair is likely to get mossy and fall off in bunches in case you are not consuming a balanced diet. Eating green vegetables and pulses is a great way to keep your hair healthy. Avoiding carbonated drinks is also important and it will help to wash your hair and keep it clean too. Curd, milk and other similar dairy products tend to help the hair to shine better and grow stronger.
- Dry skin – The skin will often show signs of flaking in case of bad eating habits. Rough skin around the elbows is an early sign that you are not following a balanced diet. Flaky nails and cracked heels are also signs of a poor diet plan. Adding spinach and bananas to your diet will help to get rid of these problems. Foods that are rich in omega 3 are also great at helping with dry skin. Fish, tuna and avocado are high on the list of omega 3 foods. Zinc containing foods should also be added to the diet and do not forget the need to consume at least 8 glasses of water every day.
- Sloppy and Slow - Fast foods and fatty foods tend to make a person sloppy and slow. These foods take a long term to get digested and will often result in sloppy behavior as opposed to making a person energetic. Eating balanced meals that have the right portions of carbohydrates, proteins and minerals is the best way to keep your energy levels high right through the day. One must find the balance between foods that provide short term energy and those that give us long term energy boosts.
- Pimples - Another significant indicator of a poor diet plan are pimples. Acne is a problem that is caused by eating the wrong kinds of foods. Chocolates, fried foods and even foods with high content of sugar in them are some of the foods that cause acne. Having a lot of water right through the day to flush out your system is a good way to steer clear of acne. Eating tofu and consuming fresh fruits and vegetables will also help. Increasing the intake of vitamin C is also going to help in clearing off acne.
In short, a good diet plan is important if you are looking for a good physical appearance.
