Child Care for Military Families

Child CareNACCRRA is working with the U.S. Military Services to help those who serve in the military find and afford child care that suits their unique needs. Through the fee assistance program, families are eligible to receive a monthly subsidy to help offset the cost of child care in their communities.

Effective April 15, 2013, Child Care Aware® of America will implement changes to the policies and procedures affecting how child care providers are currently paid. Please click here to view changes listed in the Army Program Updates section.

Eligibility may vary by military branch. To determine your eligibility, check in your service branch to identify which programs may be available:

Fee assistance amounts vary by program. For many programs, your fee assistance will be based on your total family income and provider rate.

In order to be approved, you must first select a child care provider that has registered with NACCRRA and meets the requirements of your program. Eligible providers who are not registered with NACCRRA are encouraged to apply online to become a part of our program. If you need assistance choosing a child care provider, you can search our online approved and preferred provider directory or contact Child Care Aware® at 1-800-424-2246 for additional assistance.

Once your application has been approved, NACCRRA will email an approval packet to you and your provider. At the end of each month, the provider will submit attendance sheets for payment.

Please feel free to contact the NACCRRA Military Fee Assistance department toll-free at 1-800-424-2246 or by email at with any questions you may have regarding our fee assistance programs.
