As a single mom, we can just kiss spontaneity good bye. If planning a date we have to organize care for the kids, make sure the chores of the house are all done, let the sitter know where you can be contacted, not go off too far from the home just incase an emergency arises and so many similar issues have to be looked into. It comes as no surprise then that most single moms will lead what can be called a mundane dating life, where everything is planned to the T.

Thankfully, you do not need to live in this regular dating routine if you don’t want to. Spicing up your dating life and making it fun is possible even if you are a single mom. Some tips below will help in this arena:

• Don’t go to regular places – When looking to go on a date, most of us will stop at a restaurant, a coffee shop or maybe even the pub. As a single mom you can look beyond these regular joints. Next time planning a date, go to a water park, a circus or maybe even try a private picnic in the park. When looking to add spice to your dating life, try changing the venue and this is sure to bring in some excitement.
• Plan surprises – Its true that you cannot just jump off and go for a vacation without any planning or leave for a surprise dinner. But you can plan surprises for your date. Take time to plan a surprise for your date since it will definitely lead to you having fun too. Right from a special dinner to a surprise getaway to even a night at home, you can plan it all and surprise him with it. Surprises are a lot of fun and if you can pull off yours, you will see that the effects will be beneficial to you too. So if you schedule does not allow him to surprise you, you surprise him
• Keep it playful – One of the main reasons why kids have so much fun at whatever they do is that they keep it playful. This holds true for dating also. Never lose the childlike appeal that dating allows us. Keep room open for playful activities. A little teasing, some coddling and sneaking in an intimate moment here and there never upset any routines. Allow your dating to be freer in this regard. Keep in mind that the idea is to have fun and bringing in a play will help to do just that.

As a single mom, you may find that everything in your life needs to follow a schedule so that you can stay on top of things. However, this rule need not extend to your dating too. Remember life is all about striking a balance and while your chores and your office will bring in the work factor, your dating will bring in the play in your life. Learn to strike a balance between this play and work and you will find that you lead a more wholesome life.
